BMR 

BMR is Basal Metabolic Rate.

This is valuable information when trying to lose or gain weight. This lets us know how many calories you

need to consume in order to maintain your current body weight. If we are lose or gain weight then we

need to know this number to manipulate your caloric intake. The formula is below. 

English BMR Formula

Women: BMR = 655 + ( 4.35 x weight in pounds ) + ( 4.7 x height in inches ) - ( 4.7 x age in years )
Men: BMR = 66 + ( 6.23 x weight in pounds ) + ( 12.7 x height in inches) - ( 6.8 x age in year )

 

Take your BMR and figure your multiplier from below and multiply those numbers to get your total:

Sedentary = BMR X 1.2 (little or no exercise, desk job)

Lightly active = BMR X 1.375 (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/wk)

Mod. active = BMR X 1.55 (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/wk)

Very active = BMR X 1.725 (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days/wk)

Extr. Active = BMR X 1.9 (hard daily exercise/sports & physical job or 2X day training, i.e marathon, triathlons etc.)
